Red dot notifications on the app icon

Please be aware that red dot notifications work differently depending on whether they are referring to chat messages or stream posts.

Stream notifications

Users receive a red dot notification on the app icon for every post in the stream they have been subscribed for. If they receive a second or third notification about an additional post, the counter on the dot shows 2 or 3 respectively, and so on. This applies both for Android and iOS.

Chat notifications

For Chats the notification behaviour differs between Androids and iOS.

• Android uses a red dot notification for chats, but without counter.
• iOS uses a red dot notification for chats with the counter.
