This lesson will give you advice and resources to help you develop your app structure and build a great content plan.
Before you start planning your app structure and content, it’s important to have a good understanding of the communication channels that are available on Beekeeper.
Planning your app structure involves determining your Streams, Groups, Group Chats, Profile Fields and Navigation Extensions.
During this process, you’ll also think about what content you want to share across all of these channels.
A great way to do this is to hold a workshop. In the video below, Pascal, one of our Customer Success Managers, will explain how to host a successful App Structure workshop.
As Pascal explained, the App Structure Workshop is a great way of developing a content plan and making a decision about your streams.
We recommend that you think about the different groups you need to sort users into within your app ahead of time and create those groups before uploading new users. This allows you to easily assign users to groups through the Excel/CSV upload. If necessary, you can also manually assign users to groups one-by-one later on . There is no limit to how many groups one user can be a member of.
It’s a good idea to set up group chats to replace any pre-existing groups in instant messaging apps such as WhatsApp, to make the transition to Beekeeper as easy as possible.
Shortcuts (Formerly known as Navigation Extensions)
As discussed in the Product Training course, Shortcuts contain customized links to any relevant websites or documents, empowering your colleagues by providing them with continuous access to the most important tools they need, all in one place.
Profile fields can be added and customized according to the needs of your organization. It is recommended to add fields such as ‘Position’ or ‘Location’ for others in the organization to see, however, you can also add less formal fields for employees to say something about themselves and to allow everyone to get to know each other better.
The next lesson will be ‘How to Position the Beekeeper App’. See you there!
